On Performing Solo

Around half of the year group engaged with a study of solo performance, dealing also in auto-performance of the self. The results were wonderfully varied in form, with durational street works that utilised inscription, bizarre lecture/demonstrations, clublike multi-media rituals and telematic interactions between performer, video and audience. There were also some straight forward, honest, face to face monologues. Through this work with Simon and an alternative project on research with Teresa Brayshaw, the students began to consider what a personal artistic discourse of practice might feel like.
